Аннотация: Проведен структурно-тектонический анализ южного сектора Индийского океана, дана морфоструктурная характеристика основных его таксонов - плато Дель Кано-Крозе, Конрада и Кергелен. Авторами впервые построена карта глубин акустического фундамента восточной части Африкано-Антарктической мегадепрессии с помощью оцифрованной базы данных NGDS мощности осадочного чехла в Индийском океане, которая находится в свободном доступе в сети Интернет. Выполнен критический анализ материалов глубинного сейсмического зондирования, полученных на плато Кергелен. Проведен геохимический анализ более 100 образцов базальтов, кислых пород и пород осадочного происхождения, собранных на островах арх. Кергелен и поднятых драгировками и глубоководным бурением с плато Кергелен и Конрада. В результате проведенных исследований установлено, что указанные плато по морфоструктурным признакам и ряду других особенностей напоминают Мадагаскарский хребет. Сделан вывод, что эти плосковершинные горстовые массивы не позднее палеогена были частями «структурного моста», который соединял о. Мадагаскар и восточную часть материка Антарктида. Предложен альтернативный вариант геологической интерпретации материалов глубинной сейсмики, из которого следует, что плато имеет относительно однородное, выдержанное по простиранию строение с мощным, не менее 15 км, слоем континентальной коры. Анализ карты глубин акустического фундамента позволил выделить депоцентры относительно изолированных котловин (Эндерби, Шеклтон и Лабуан), обрамляющих плато Кергелен с южной стороны. Особенности парагенетических связей плато Кергелен с котловинами позволяют предполагать, что обособление плато Кергелен от Восточной Антарктиды и формирование современного структурного плана региона началось в позднем мелу и закончилось в новейшую фазу тектонической активизации в позднем миоцене-плиоцене. Результаты геохимического анализа свидетельствуют, что геохимические и петрологические аномалии плато и островов связаны с коровой, а не с мантийной контаминацией базальтовых расплавов, а также с континентальной природой плато Кергелен.
